Terms and Conditions for Prize Draw: CIPD Festival of Work 2025

A free prize draw (“Draw”) is being held for a chance to win one of 10 copies of ‘The Neglected Acts of Leadership’ book (“Prize”) at the CIPD Festival of Work 2025 (“Event”).
The promoter of the Draw is The City and Guilds of London Institute (reg. no. 312832), whose office is at Giltspur House, 5–6 Giltspur Street, London, EC1A 9DE, UK (“Promoter”).

The following terms and conditions apply to the Draw.

(1) The Draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees of the Promoter and the City & Guilds Group, their families or agents.

(2) The Draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. Upon having their badge scanned at the Event in accordance with the entry process described in Condition (3) below, participants will be automatically entered into the Draw.

(3) To enter the Draw, participants must consent to having their badge scanned at the Event by the Promoter’s staff.

Only one entry per person is permitted.

(4) The opening date for entries is 8:00am (BST) on 11/06/2025. The closing date of the Draw is 4:30pm (BST) on 12/06/2025. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.

(5) The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries which are not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind or which are lost, delayed, misdirected or corrupted due to any reason whatsoever.

(6) The winners will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on 13/06/2025 (“Draw Date”).

(7) The winners will receive a copy of ‘The Neglected Acts of Leadership’ book. There are 10 of these Prizes to be awarded.

(8) The winners will be notified by email (using the contact details provided by participants on registration for the Event) within 10 days of the Draw and must provide a postal address to claim the Prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 30 days of being notified by the Promoter (or if incorrect or incomplete contact details have been provided for the winner), then the Prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the draw process described in Condition (6) above.

(9) The Prize will be sent to the winners by post within 14 days of being notified of their win.

(10) The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

(11) The Promoter reserves the right to replace the Prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.

(12) The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

(13) The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, the Promoter will make the names of the winners available on request to anyone who emails customersupport@cityandguilds.com or writes to City & Guilds, Giltspur House, 5–6 Giltspur Street, London, EC1A 9DE, UK within 1 month after the closing date stated in Condition (4) above. If a participant objects to their name being made available, they should contact the Promoter at customersupport@cityandguilds.com. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

(14) Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry to, or to refuse to award the Prize to, anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

(15) The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the Draw where it becomes necessary to do so.

(16) Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winners or accept any liability for any non- or late delivery of the Prize due to any reason beyond its control or for damage incurred to the Prize during delivery.

(17) Personal data supplied during the course of this Draw will only be processed as set out in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. Participants acknowledge Condition (13) above also with regard to the making available of information about the winners.

(18) These terms and conditions and the Draw are governed by English law and the jurisdiction of the English courts.
