Replacing and amending paper certificates
Paper certificates are our traditional method of recognising learner achievements and are awarded upon successful completion of qualifications, assessments or in-house training programmes.
Customers
If you need to amend or replace one or more learner certificates, please email customersupport@cityandguilds.com and provide the following:
- your centre number
- your order number
- the reason for replacement
- the candidate enrolment number, full name and date of birth
- qualification number and title, including the level
Please note that your application will take up to three weeks to process and there will be a fee. You can find out more about the costs in our UK charges and prices list.
If you are amending a certificate you will also need to request a replacement copy once the amend has been made in order to receive an updated version.
Learners
If you wish to amend or replace a certificate within one calendar month of the date it was issued, speak to your centre and they can request a replacement or any amendments on your behalf.
Amending a certificate
If you need to amend a certificate more than one calendar month after issue you will need to submit a request using our online application and payment form.
From the Search Type drop down select Amend details on a Certificate, fill out the learner, qualification and centre details and then upload the following:
- A copy of the original certificate(s)
And then depending on the necessary change a copy of either:
- An in-date passport or driving licence
- Deed poll
- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate or divorce papers
- An official letter such as a bank statement, pay slip, doctor’s letter etc.
Once you have confirmed the amend to the certificate or certificates you will need to request a replacement copy in order to receive an updated version.
Replacing a certificate
If you need to replace a certificate more than one calendar month after issue you will need to submit a request using our online application and payment form.
From the Search Type drop down select Replacement Certificate and fill out the learner, qualification and centre details.
Applying on behalf of a learner
If you are applying to amend or replace a certificate on a learner’s behalf the learner will need to provide proof of identification such as a colour copy of a valid driving licence or passport and a completed consent form.
These both need to be attached to the online application and payment form.
