Update on City & Guilds and ILM annual price review

City & Guilds and ILM revised pricing will start to be available in Walled Garden from July 2025 – understand what’s changing.

16 June 2025

In March 2025, we announced the start of our annual review of City & Guilds and ILM fees and charges, which will take effect from September 2025.

We remain committed to keeping our prices as low as possible while maintaining the high standards and value you expect from City & Guilds. As part of this commitment, we’re pleased to confirm:

  • The majority of end-point assessment prices will be held at current rates.
  • The new annual fee previously announced will not be introduced in September 2025.

We are also currently reviewing our minimum fee threshold and will share further updates soon.

About the Annual Pricing Review

Each year, we carry out a thorough pricing review to ensure our pricing remains fair, sustainable, and aligned to the value we provide through our qualifications, assessments, and support services.

We continue to operate in a complex environment shaped by major technical education reforms, increased regulatory demands, and rising costs of delivery. These factors mean we must take careful, evidence-based decisions to ensure we can continue supporting our customers and learners now and in the future.

The changes we are making to our pricing reflect a balanced approach that considers the size and type of qualification, delivery costs, and broader market dynamics.

From September 2025:

  • Some qualification and service prices will increase above the rate of inflation,
  • Some increases will remain below the rate of inflation, and
  • Other prices will stay the same.

Updated prices will begin to appear in Walled Garden from July 2025, with all updates visible by early August.

The City & Guilds and ILM UK Centre Charges document and ILM Guide to Fees document will also be updated in August 2025.

How our fees support your success

As your global skills partner, we are committed to delivering quality, value, and impact across everything we offer. Our pricing structure, including the minimum spend threshold, ensures the integrity of our qualifications and assessments while enabling us to continuously invest in our services.

Every year, we reinvest in enhancing existing products, launching new solutions, and supporting your delivery - so that you can focus on helping your learners thrive.

We are a charity, not a shareholder-driven business. The surplus we generate goes back into fulfilling our charitable purpose and the commitments of our Royal Charter. You can learn more about the difference this makes in our social impact report and annual report.

We also take pride in the expert support we provide throughout the learner journey -from planning and onboarding to delivery and assessment. That’s why we continue to invest in our customer support teams to ensure:

  • You have access to expert advice, efficient query resolution, and tailored guidance.
  • You benefit from proactive support through regular meetings, networking events, and webinars.
  • You can confidently deliver a comprehensive range of high-quality, future-ready qualifications and services.

By taking this approach, we can continue to:

  • Provide one of the most extensive and trusted portfolios of qualifications and EPA services,
  • Innovate to meet emerging skills needs, and
  • Deliver on our purpose to create real, lasting social impact.
