What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

You will learn at work or at a training centre with a realistic working environment. By the end of your qualification, you'll be demonstrating your skills on paying clients.

You'll be assessed as you learn. For each unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a task and looks at a portfolio of work that you've built as formal evidence of your learning. Then they confirm you've got the skills to do the job well.

These qualifications can prepare you to work in a salon and help you to progress to become a senior member of staff.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

You will deliver these qualifications according to standards set by the SSB Habia.

You'll assess the qualifications using either short-answer questions or online e-assessment and practical observations at a centre or in your learner's workplace.

You must ensure all learners can access a realistic workplace environment and all the equipment they need to achieve occupational standards.

Level 6

SVQ Level 3 is ideal if you've worked in a salon, spa or similar job for some time, or have gained your Level 2 Beauty Therapy/Nail Services qualification. You may be a senior member of staff. You want to demonstrate specialist skills, focusing on salon or spa services.

Each qualification comprises a number of core and optional units, depending on your area of specialism. These cover a wide range, including:

Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities
Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business
Provide facial electrical treatments
Provide body massage treatments
Provide stone therapy treatments
Provide cosmetic skin peel treatments
Enhance and maintain nails using liquid and powder.
Enhance and maintain nails using light cured gel
