These qualifications provide an introduction to caring for children and help develop the skills and knowledge learners need to care for children.

Learners will cover topics such as communicating with children, engaging children through activities, supporting learning and planning for the care of children's physical and emotional needs.

What Careers Can This Lead To?

Once you've completed the Diploma, you could advance to the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce (4227) or Intermediate Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce (9735)

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To assess these qualifications you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

Centres currently approved to offer the 3249-01 will gain automatic approval to offer the 4237 suite of qualifications.
