The new qualification has been designed to support the on programme element of the Leader in Adult Care apprenticeship standard in England and covers the knowledge and skills required to work in adult care in a leadership role in a range of settings. Once the Institute for Apprenticeships publish the Leader in Adult Care apprenticeship standard, this qualification as become mandatory for apprentices working towards the standard.
The qualification is has not been designed to replace the Advanced Practice pathway of the 4978-56 Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (Adults’ Advanced Practice), which remains open for registrations.
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care qualification contains units which are competence based and some knowledge based units.
An optional assignment is available to support the assessment support the assessment of Unit 502 Governance and regulatory processes.
