Electrotech qualification (5357)

The Installation and maintenance electrician standard (ST 0152) is suited for learners who wish to become installation or maintenance electricians. The broad purpose of the occupation is to install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and residential environments.
City & Guilds has developed a mandatory qualification to support learners to gain the skills and knowledge to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the installation and maintenance of Electrotechnical systems as they work towards becoming qualified installation or maintenance electricians.
The holder of this qualification must also achieve the relevant version of AM2 through National Electrotechnical Training (NET) to achieve occupational competence. 

Please Note: 5357 BS7671:2018 (2026) Amendment 4
The 5357-026 is the current version of BS7671 and includes Amendment 4. Centres wishing to take the latest test including the Amendment 4 updates, must book on the 5357-026.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
Throughout your study you will cover a number of specialist subject areas. Some of these are the following : Health and Safety legislation, Environmental legislation, Practices and procedures. Scientific Principles, Inspection and testing. Fault finding and diagnosis. Design and Installation.
What Careers Can This Lead To?
Our qualifications can lead directly into employment, offering learners the chance to develop their skills and knowledge to a high standard recognised by the industry.  The qualification contribute knowledge, understanding, and practical skills regarding Installing and Maintaining Electrotechnical Systems. Candidates will have learnt the required skills and knowledge to demonstrate their occupational competence in the workplace.

In addition, we also have a number of Higher Level qualifications offered through ILM.
What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
To deliver this qualification you will need qualified and competent assessors and staff, as well the required physical resources and suitable facilities. The requirements for these can be found in the qualification handbook. Centres currently offering the 2357 qualifications will have to complete a fast track form, all other centres will be need to fill out a full (QAP) qualification approval form.
