Health and Social Care for Wales and Northern Ireland (4230)

These Level 1 knowledge qualifications, available to learners in Wales and Northern Ireland, have been developed in partnership with Skills for Care and Development to be used as and introduction to working in adult social care or with children and young people.
These qualifications can be undertaken by anyone considering a career in social care. They will provide and introduction into the sector for a number of individuals, form school-leavers to people returning to work after a career break.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
You can choose the qualification that will enable you to develop the knowledge you need for entry to the sector. Areas covered include:
• communication
• health and safety
• safeguarding
• duty of care
• the role of the social worker

These qualifications can get you started in a career in adult social care or children and young people's settings.
What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

You will need qualified staff to deliver and assess these qualifications. To find all the resource requirements download the qualification handbook from the centre documents section.  
These qualification replace 4333-12-14 from 01 September 2014. If you currently offer 4333-12-14 or 4222-22 you will be automatically approved for the new qualifications. Fast track is available if you currently offer 4333-10-11-13-15 or 4222-21.
