EPA & Mandatory qualification

Level 3 Domestic Plumbing and Heating Technician (V1.2)

This EPA and on-programme qualification supports version 1.2 of the ST0303 standard and is structured across three pathways, with an option to include Matters of Gas Safety.

Level 3 Domestic Plumbing and Heating Technician (V1)

EPA for apprentices on version 1 of the ST0303 standard.

EPA & Non-mandatory qualification

Level 3 Gas Engineering Operative

EPA and non-mandatory on-programme qualification supporting apprentices on the ST0155 standard version 1.3 progressing into gas engineering roles.

EPA & Mandatory qualification

Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician

Supporting the ST0539 standard with mandatory on‑programme qualifications and EPA, helping apprentices develop skills in sustainable cooling and heating systems.

Mandatory qualification

Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician

City & Guilds provides the mandatory on‑programme qualification, supporting apprentices on the ST0140 standard to install, maintain and repair electrical systems across all environments.

Mandatory qualification

Level 3 Domestic Electrician

This on‑programme qualification supports the Domestic Electrician apprenticeship standard ST1017, covering the installation and maintenance of electrical services in domestic settings.

Supporting electrical apprenticeships

City & Guilds supports electrical apprenticeships through industry-aligned technical qualifications and expert provider support, with EPA delivered by National Electrotechnical Training (NET), the sole EPAO for electrotechnical apprenticeships in England.

The City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (5357‑23) underpins on‑programme delivery for the Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship (ST0152), while the Level 3 Award in Electrotechnical in Dwellings (5393‑03) supports specialist training for the Domestic Electrician apprenticeship (ST1017).

Apprentices complete the AM2 end-point assessment, owned and delivered by NET at licensed assessment centres, to demonstrate full occupational competence.

Together, City & Guilds qualifications and the NET EPA provide a clear, standards‑aligned route from training through to independent assessment and apprentice competence.
