How will MFA affect my login experience
Once MFA is deployed to a platform, when you log in for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set up an account and verify your identity via email. Once MFA is deployed on all City & Guilds platforms you will have one set of login credentials to give you a more consistent experience. MFA adds a quick additional step to your login process, and it significantly enhances the security of your account.
I am an Associate of City & Guilds, what do I need to do
As an Associate of City & Guilds you may find you have an additional step to set up a multifactor authentication (MFA) account. We have provided MFA log in guidance for Associates in the Associate Resource Hub in the 'General Resources' section.
When will MFA go live on the platforms I use
MFA will be implemented in phases across City & Guilds platforms over several months. During the implementation phase some platforms will have MFA and while some platforms will not. In advance of each platform having MFA implemented we will notify platform users. You will have the opportunity to attend a webinar and ask questions. Please look out for a notice on our website or an email from us.
Will I need a workphone or authenticator app
No. The verification code will be sent via email. The code will be sent to the email address you specify as your account login email address.
What does my password need to include
Your password needs to include a minimum of 8 characters and 3 out of 4 of lowercase or uppercase characters, numbers or symbols.
How we use the data we collect
At City & Guilds and ILM, we’re committed to protecting customer data. Our customer privacy notice explains what we collect, how we use it, when we may share it, and how we keep it secure.
Implementation timeline
We will be rolling out MFA with the plan to finish implementation in 2026. This phased approach will also update platforms that already have a version of MFA in place.
