Are you new to working with City & Guilds or exploring our Skills for Work & Life qualifications for the first time? Get to know Functional Skills in maths and English, along with our ESOL, Employability, and Personal Progress qualifications.

We offer “New to Us” sessions designed to help you get started with City & Guilds. In these short introductory sessions, one of our maths and English Technical Advisors will guide you through the essentials of delivering our qualifications in England, including:

  • Our practice-sharing networks

We also run regular “Virtual Link Up” sessions for English, Maths, and ESOL throughout the academic year. These interactive sessions are designed to keep practitioners informed and supported, offering the latest updates on qualifications, delivery approaches, and key developments. They provide a valuable opportunity to share best practice, exchange ideas, and learn from peers working in similar settings. From our e-Functional Skills learning platform to SmartScreen, we have a range of digital resources which will support your blended delivery and help you give your learners an independent learning experience.

e-Functional Skills

A digital solution that fully compliments our new Reformed Functional Skills (4748), all the content is mapped to our qualification offer. Supporting in guiding learners from Initial Assessment and Diagnostic Testing all the way through to being exam ready, covering English, Maths and ICT from Entry 3 to Level 2.

SmartScreen

SmartScreen is the City & Guilds tutor and learner support platform, providing online resources for our qualifications and apprenticeships.

Supporting over 150 qualifications and apprenticeships across 20 different industries, SmartScreen equips tutors and assessors with delivery tools and learners with engaging content.

Journey 2 English

We have partnered with Klik2Learn to offer Journey 2 English, a digital course for intermediate learners of English. It is aligned to City & Guilds ESOL Skills for Life (4692) qualification and available through our SmartScreen platform at a per-learner licencing model.

Open Assess

Learners can take online sample practice tests on our Open Assess platform - an open version of e-volve. Open Assess replicates a live test environment and enables you to mark and provide feedback, helping to address areas in need of additional teaching support.
