City & Guilds now has a dedicated office in Napier, New Zealand to serve New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Until now, City & Guilds served New Zealand centres from its Singapore office. However, it soon became clear that the customers in the region required further support from within the time zone.

‘The past two years have seen our annual turnover in the region double, with a good platform for further growth,’ says Glenn Fulcher, who serves as the head of the new Napier office. ‘It was decided that the time was right to increase and confirm our presence on the ground in 2013.’

The country’s vocational education sector is strong and it is commonly reported that three in 10 New Zealand learners head to university, leaving a market of 70 percent that either go into employment, apprenticeships or vocational education.

Alongside this, New Zealand has seen a rapid growth in international students. Over the past five years, people from more than 180 different countries have been granted permits to study in the country.

The Napier office also enables work with Australia due to close country relationships and access.

Looking forward, Glenn is keen to provide a broader product range in the region, with more focus on the hair and beauty, automotive and engineering sectors, as well as further advancement into the oil and gas sector.

Hello. I'm a mature (43) student in the UK currently studying City and Guilds Level 3 Extended Advanced Technical Diploma in Horticulture. I have just completed my first year and gained my basic Diploma. Would it be possible to complete this course in NZ as this is where I would like to permanently reside after my course completes. I am able to fund this personally.

Thank you
