Forget about the Brexit, here’s the opportunity to vote on a really important issue. The City & Guilds Lion Awards.

Each year City & Guilds runs the Lion Awards to honour the best of the best in the world of professional and technical education. Today voting opened for the People’s Choice award, the one category where members of the public can vote for the person they think is most deserving, whether that be an inspirational lecturer or an awe inspiring learner.

People can choose from one of our regional winners who will compete for the prestigious national award which will be announced on 7 July 2016 at the annual Lion Awards ceremony.

Kirstie Donnelly MBE, UK Managing Director at City & Guilds said: “This is the only Lion Award to be decided by public vote so it is extra special for whoever emerges as the winner. All candidates deserve the accolade, each with a special story to tell and very admirable skill and commitment to their vocation. I wish them the best of luck and look forward to congratulating the winner at the ceremony in July.”

The Lion Awards is a red-carpet event which is the finale to City & Guilds’ annual Medals for Excellence programme. The contenders for this award have all have gone above and beyond to achieve and many have had to overcome barriers and challenges to achieve success.

To view the list of nominees and cast your vote visit the City & Guilds website by 27 June 2016 and choose the nominee you think deserves to win from the list of Medals for Excellence winners.
