This qualification allows learners to gain, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in building services, plumbing, or electrical work.

It is aimed at those wanting to enter the building services, electrical or plumbing industries.  It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and provides the opportunity to progress to our Level 2 or 3 Plumbing or Electrical Installation qualifications.

General Information

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

As part of this qualification, you will study installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, above ground drainage, pipework (copper and plastic). You will also study electrical wiring and terminals.  You will also learn about the structure of the construction industry, environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings and site preparation in the construction industry.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver this qualification, centres will need qualified assessors and suitable facilities.  The requirements for these can be found in the qualification handbook. 

Centres who are currently offering the 7202, Plumbing (6189, 6035) 
or Electrical (2357, 2365) qualifications can apply for automatic approval to offer the new qualification.
